Fr. Jan Korycki, SAC

A Requiem Mass was celebrated on 03 August 2020 in SS. Salvatore in Onda Church, Rome, for the repose of the soul of Fr. Jan Korycki, SAC, who rested eternally on 30 July 2020 in Poland. The Holy Eucharist was presided over by Rev. Fr. Jacob Nampudakam, the Rector General of the Society of Catholic Apostolate, who said that Fr. Korycki’s life was characterized by great passion, untiring perseverance and utmost perfection. Rev. Sr. Izabela Świerad, SAC, the Mother General of the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Catholic Apostolate, gave a brief introduction before the Mass, highlighting important aspects of Fr. Korycki’s life specially that of his tireless efforts in the process of the Beatification of Blessed Elisabetta Sanna and his love for the Union. Ms. Donatella Acerbi, the President of the Union of Catholic Apostolate, proposed the vote of thanks at the end of the Mass. Many of Fr. Korycki’s friends participated in the Eucharistic celebration, among whom were present some dignitaries from the Vatican, religious sisters, lay faithful along with the members of the Pallottine Family. May the soul of Fr. Jan Korycki, through the mercy of God, rest in peace!

NOVENA to the Holy Spirit

The Golden Key to Graces
This novena in honor of the Holy Spirit is the oldest of all novenas since it was first made at the direction of Our Lord Himself when He sent His apostles back to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost. It is still the only novena officially prescribed by the Church. In 1897, Pope Leo XIII asked the whole church to renew its devotion by praying a Novena to the Holy Spirit in the nine days leading up to Pentecost (Divinum Illud Munus). He asked that this novena be done every year in every parish throughout the world. Addressed to the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, it is a powerful plea for the light and strength and love so sorely needed by every Christian. It focuses on the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
