The twelfth anniversary of the erection of the Union of Catholic Apostolate

The twelfth anniversary of the erection of the Union of Catholic Apostolate as an international association of the faithful of pontifical right was celebrated on Saturday, October 31st, 2015, in the church of SS. Salvatore in Onda. Members of the Union living in Rome and the surrounding area gathered for an hour of Eucharistic Adoration, thanking God for the immense gift of the Pallottine charism and of the Union.

This was followed by the vibrant Eucharistic concelebration presided over by Fr. Norbert Sequeira, General Bursar of the Union, during which, after an inspiring introduction by Donatella Acerbi, President of the Union, all of the Union members present renewed their Act of Apostolic Commitment. Fr. Wolfgang Weiss, Vice Rector of the General House, who was celebrating his feast day, gave the homily, recalling how the General Statutes of the Union and the rules in general are useful because they point to the life of Christ which, as St. Vincent Pallotti said, is the fundamental rule for our life.

As a witness to the call of the Union to be a concrete sign in the daily lives of people, there was a collection during the offertory to support a drug and alcohol rehabilitation project for young people in Codò, Maranhão, in north-east Brazil, which is run by a Pallottine priest with the collaboration of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters and many lay members and collaborators of the Union and others.
